WEATHER CONDITIONS
All cruises are subject to weather conditions at the time of sailing. Sweeney’s Cruise Co can accept no responsibility in the event that a cruise is cancelled because of flooding or adverse weather conditions. Where possible 24 hours notice shall be given if any condition is known to be likely to prevent the vessel from sailing. Customers must advise a contact telephone number at the time of booking in case of this event. If an alternative date cannot be agreed then a full refund will be given. In the event of bad weather please telephone our information line on 01389 752376 for up to date information on details and revisions of published sailing times.
FORCE MAJEURE
No liability can be accepted by Sweeney’s Cruise Co where the contract is affected by ''force majeure''. ''Force Majeure'' is any event that we could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. These events include but are not limited to war, riot, civil or industrial disputes/strikes, natural disaster, fire, flood, earthquake, acts of God, terrorism, nuclear disaster, adverse weather, government action, technical problems with transportation or other events outside our control.
BEHAVIOUR
Sweeney’s Cruise Co reserve the right to refuse to carry any person whose conduct/manner is felt to be likely to cause offence or upset to other passengers. This also applies to anyone who exhibits behaviour in a way which potentially poses a threat to the health and safety of themselves or other passengers including staff and crew. In the event of a refusal to carry then full cancellation charges apply (no refunds given) and Sweeney’s Cruise Co accept no company liability. The Captains of all Sweeney’s Cruise Co have the authority to terminate any cruise before the scheduled time if the behaviour of passengers or the general public poses any risk to other guests safety, the safety of the vessel, any equipment onboard the vessel and crew or the safety of other loch users.
ALCOHOL/DRUGS
The captain reserves the right to refuse access to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol. Guests are also not permitted to bring any alcohol onto the vessel. The Captain has the right to confiscate any such alcohol and terminate the cruise before the scheduled time. Sweeney’s Cruise Co also have the right to carry out security checks prior to boarding the vessel. If own alcohol is found to have been consumed a corkage charge will be levied and the captain has the right to terminate the cruise.
SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted anywhere onboard including on open air decks.
IMPAIRED MOBILITY
The crew will be on hand to assist those with impaired mobility. Wheelchair users should contact our offices beforehand to ensure availability and suitability of wheelchair access for their chosen cruise. For safety reasons we, regrettably, cannot accomodate electric wheelchairs.
VESSEL SAFETY
All of our boats are fitted with the very latest safety equipment and all crew members are fully trained and qualified to meet the requirements of Marine Safety regulations.
LOST PROPERTY
Sweeney’s Cruise Co accept no responsibility for items left on any vessel or any loss of personal belongings. Any personal items handed in by customers or crew will be retained in our offices for a period of 6 months before being disposed of. In the event of lost property please call our offices on 01389 752376.
SCHEDULED CRUISES
RESERVATIONS
Reservations will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Sweeney’s Cruise Co reserve the right to cancel cruises where minimum numbers of passengers are not reached. In this event a suitable alternative or a full refund will be offered. Sweeney’s Cruise Co reserve the right to refuse any booking request.
DEPARTURES
Passengers should be at the cruise departure point stated no less than 15 minutes prior to their chosen departure time.
LATECOMING/ MISSED CRUISES
Sweeney’s Cruise Co accept no liability for individual late coming or late coming due to 3rd parties and cannot delay cruises for individuals. If you would like to alter the time or date of your booking please email info@sweeneyscruises.com or call us on +44 (0) 1389 752376. If you are unable to make your scheduled cruise please let us know prior to your cruise and we will be able to refund or reschedule if capacity is available. Missed cruises with no notice from the customer will not be refunded.
ALTERATIONS
Sweeney’s Cruise Co reserve the right to change the tour itinerary at any time. This includes but is not limited to adverse weather conditions, low demand, setting down and picking up passengers at other points on Loch Lomond and the route taken. Sweeney’s Cruise Co also reserve the right to change the vessel/vehicle without prior notice. In the event of cancellation by Sweeney’s Cruise Co a refund or alternative sailing will be offered.
GROUP BOOKINGS
Full payment is required in advance for all group bookings unless a credit agreement/account held with Sweeney’s Cruise Co.
INFANTS AND CHILDREN
Reduced child prices are available for children aged between 5 and 12 years. Infants 4 years or under travel free of charge. Where possible prams and buggies should be left on shore or folded prior to boarding and held in a secure place by the crew. All children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
PRIVATE CHARTER
BOOKINGS
Sweeney’s Cruise Co is willing to accept provisional bookings for 14 days without obligation. Thereafter a signed booking form and a deposit of 50% of the boat hire cost is required to secure the provisional booking. If a deposit is not received with 14 days of making the provisional booking Sweeney’s Cruise Co reserve the right to re allocate the vessel.
Full payment must be received by Sweeney’s Cruise Co no later than 7 days prior to cruise departure. The cruise will not commence unless full payment has been received.
Sweeney’s Cruise CO reserves the right to refuse any booking request. Once a booking is confirmed it cannot be transferred between parties.
CANCELLATIONS
Any alterations/cancellations must be received in writing by Sweeney’s Cruise Co. Cancellations made within 14 days of cruise date will incur loss of deposit.
DURATION/LATE COMING
The vessel is booked for the agreed duration at the agreed price. Sweeney’s Cruise Co accept no liability for individual late coming or late coming due to 3rd party suppliers or coach companies. If late guests delay the departure of the cruise the vessel will return to the quayside at the scheduled time regardless of the actual cruise duration.
The vessel will be available to board 15 minutes prior to arranged departure time.
LEAD PASSENGER
The Lead passenger is responsible for all members of the party and should ensure that all members of the group are aware of the terms and condition of carriage.
CATERING
Where food or refreshments have been booked all guests must be catered for. Final guest numbers must be confirmed 7 days prior to cruise. We cannot normally reduce booked catering numbers or make refunds without 5 days notice.
Guests cannot bring their own food or refreshment unless by prior arrangement.
ON BOARD ENTERTAINMENT
Bands or other entertainment may be contracted to play on board by prior arrangement only.
AMENDMENTS TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Sweeney’s Cruise Co reserve the right to amend or update the terms and conditions of hire as and when necessary. The hirer should ensure that all members of the party are fully conversant with these terms.
COMPLAINTS
In the event of any complaint or problem arising during the cruise, guests should approach a crew member with the problem. Where possible this will be dealt with onboard to your satisfaction. If guests are still not 100% happy then complaints may be submitted in writing to Sweeney’s Cruise Co, Balloch, Alexandria, G83 8SS.
